Gensler
Over the course of Dr. Gensler鈥檚 career in the field of special education, she has worked with individuals with exceptionalities from preschool age to adulthood across different settings, including teaching for over ten years in the New York City Department of Education. Dr. Gensler went to Teachers College, Columbia University in which she received a Master of Arts in Intellectual Disabilities and Autism, a Master of Education in Instruction and Practices in Special Education, and a Doctorate in Intellectual Disabilities and Autism. Her dissertation was entitled, 鈥淎 Comparison of Children With and Without Autism Spectrum Disorder in terms of Child Temperament, Child Externalizing Behavior, Parent Self- Efficacy, and Parent Stress.鈥 Dr. Gensler has taught at Teachers College, Columbia University and at New York University Steinhardt School of Culture, Education, and Human Development. She is particularly interested in developing curriculum to meet all students鈥 needs. Dr. Gensler was part of the team that helped to design the curriculum for the special education masters鈥 programs at 麻豆区. She believes in creating a thoughtful, collaborative, and accessible environment that promotes learning for all students through evidence-based practices and research.
