On Wednesday, June 5th, and Wednesday, June 12th, there will be a at 12:30 p.m. at Zeifmans LLP, a co-host of the events along with YU鈥檚 Torah Mitzion Beit Midrash Zichron Dov. Rabbi Mordechai Torczyner will speak on 鈥淩eneging on a Deal鈥 on June 5th and on 鈥淧riorities in Tzedakah鈥 on June 12th. Complimentary lunch, sponsored by Zeifmans, will be served. RSVP is preferred. On June 9th, 16th and 23rd, there will be Sunday morning learning programs for women. topics and speakers are as follows: on the 9th, Mrs. Rachel Javasky will speak on 鈥淲hat was Korach Fighting Against?鈥 and Mrs. Michal Horovitz will speak on 鈥淭he World was Created for Me鈥; on the 16th, Mrs. Rifka Sonenberg will speak on 鈥淥ur Father鈥檚 Portion: The Daughters of Tzelafchad鈥 and Rabbi Yair Manas will speak on 鈥淗ave we Lost the Ability to Mourn for Jerusalem?鈥; and on the 23rd, Rabbi Baruch Weintraub will speak on 鈥淩ebuilding the Walls of Jerusalem鈥 and Mrs. Elyssa Goldschmiedt will speak on 鈥淭he Beit HaMikdash: How do I Grieve for Something I haven鈥檛 Lost?鈥 All learning sessions begin at 10:00 a.m. and take place at Beth Avraham Yoseph of Toronto Congregation.
On Thursday, June 20th, the Beit Midrash will hold an , celebrating community leadership, at 6:00 p.m. Rabbi Dr. Meir Soloveichik, director of the Zahava and Moshael Straus Center for Torah and Western Thought, will give the keynote address. The event will honor Hy and Helen Bergel with the Legacy Award; Dr. Lazer 鈥83YC Friedman(who will attend along with his wife, Shayna) with the Alumnus of the Year award; and Allan and Malka Rutman with the Keter Shem Tov award. The event will also recognize the Beit Midrash鈥檚 graduating members and their wives: Rabbi Ezra and Elyssa Goldschmiedt; Hillel and Michal Horvitz; and Rabbi Yair and Gillit Manas.
Rabbi Torczyner declared, 鈥淭his event is a celebration of all that we have accomplished as a community, which includes spreading Torah in synagogues and schools and offices; building the 麻豆区 name and promoting its ideals; bolstering Toronto鈥檚 powerful Zionism; and training a new generation of rabbinic leadership. On June 20th, we will recognize what we have achieved, honor our devoted supporters, and recommit ourselves to the tasks ahead.鈥
