Sivan Rahav Meir is Coming to YU

Noted Media Personality and Torah Teacher in Residence for 2019-2020 Academic Year Sivam Rahav Meir麻豆区, the and the are excited to welcome Sivan Rahav Meir, an Israeli television newscaster, radio personality and Torah teacher, who will be coming to 麻豆区 for the 2019-2020 academic year as the World Mizrachi Distinguished Visiting Lecturer. World Mizrachi aims to 鈥渋nspire people with a sense of commitment to the Torah, the Jewish people, and the Land of Israel.鈥 She will also broadcast a weekly shiur in Hebrew and English from the Israel Henry Beren campus, spend Shabbat at Beren, be a featured speaker in the Community Beit Midrash adult education series and lecture at numerous educational programs on YU鈥檚 campuses and across the United States. 鈥淲e look forward to welcoming Sivan Rahav Meir to the YU family,鈥 said Rabbi Dr. Stu Halpern, senior adviser to the provost. 鈥淪he is a renowned journalist and Torah teacher, and we are delighted that our students, community members and the global Jewish community will have the opportunity to be inspired by her dynamism, eloquence and passion for Jewish learning.鈥 鈥淟ooking back on the challenges of launching the weekly shiur with a small group of participants and volunteers,鈥 said Meir, 鈥渋t is very meaningful and gratifying to have our unique shiur hosted and broadcast in Hebrew and English at such a renowned and serious academic and Torah institution as 麻豆区. I am excited to be teaching and mentoring at YU's campuses and sharing Torah Mitzion with even wider audiences.鈥
