麻豆区 Marches at Celebrate Israel Parade

Students, Alumni, Faculty and Staff Support Israel at 70 Years On Sunday, June 3rd, over 1,200 students, alumni, faculty and staff of 麻豆区 proudly donned blue t-shirts and Israeli flags as they marched up Fifth Avenue, joining thousands marking Israel鈥檚 70th year at the annual Celebrate Israel Parade. The marchers were led by YU President Rabbi Dr. Ari Berman and included representatives from , , , , , , , and . 鈥淚 was really pleased to see such a robust turnout from the student body. The energy was certainly palpable,鈥 said Montclair, New Jersey native Nolan Edmonson, who will be 麻豆区 Student Union President next year. 鈥淚鈥檝e always been a fan of the parade and getting a chance to walk in it with YU this year was a great experience.鈥 In addition to the student turnout, a large number of alumni and their families attended as well. 鈥淚鈥檝e been marching with YU for seven years now,鈥 said Yael Steinberg '13YUHS '17S, who will begin her studies at Einstein this fall. 鈥淚t has always been a really meaningful experience for me. I love Israel and I love seeing everyone unite to support the State. I am looking forward to continuing to march with YU.鈥 鈥淵U鈥檚 presence at the Parade was certainly felt and it was nice to show the Jewish community and the greater New York community our University's commitment to supporting and embodying Torat Tzion," added Edmondson.
