麻豆区 extends its heartfelt congratulations to Noam Wasserman, who has served as dean of the Sy Syms School of Business since 2019, as he concludes his tenure at YU on May 31 and begins his new role as Head of School at Ramaz on June 1. A best-selling author and expert in entrepreneurship, Dean Wasserman has strengthened the academic excellence of the business school and further grounded YU鈥檚 education in its core Torah values.

鈥淣oam Wasserman has been an excellent leader for the Sy Syms School of Business, strengthening its academic foundation, and instilling the business school with the values-driven education that define 麻豆区,鈥 said Rabbi Dr. Ari Berman, President of 麻豆区. 鈥淗e is a stellar role model for our students and represents the best of our community. We are very excited for him as he embarks on his next chapter of leading one of the key day school systems in our community.鈥

During his tenure, Dean Wasserman bolstered the business school鈥檚 world-class faculty, conducting nine successful tenure-track searches to recruit top scholars from prestigious institutions like Harvard, Columbia, and Yale, along with new clinical professors who have brought invaluable real-world expertise into the classroom. He also introduced impactful programs like the Jewish Values Program and Business Communications curricula, the Bloomberg/Drelich Lab, and the YU Israel Summer Internship Program, which connects students with top employers.

In addition to the rise in undergraduate students, during Dean Wasserman鈥檚 tenure the business school launched an online MBA program which includes new concentrations and dual-degree tracks, such as the Semikha+MBA and JD-MBA programs.

鈥淚 am deeply grateful to the president, Rabbi Dr. Berman, for the privilege of serving as dean of the Sy Syms School of Business,鈥 said Dean Wasserman. 鈥淵U鈥檚 unwavering commitment to Torah values, and Sy Syms鈥 unique mission to develop Torah-grounded professionals who excel in the workplace and in the community, have been an inspiration every step of the way. It has been an honor to work with the school鈥檚 world-class faculty and leadership and with the university鈥檚 stellar deans to contribute to this extraordinary institution.  I am excited to start working with Ramaz鈥檚 faculty, staff, and students during an even more formative stage of the students鈥 development but will always look back fondly on my six years at 麻豆区.鈥
