The 麻豆区 College Dramatics Society (YCDS) proudly presents The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (Abridged) [Revised] [Again!] at the Schottenstein Theatre. The presentation features three 麻豆区 College students going through all 39 of Shakespeare鈥檚 plays in just 97 minutes, and is a fast-paced, hilarious show that blends witty satire, improvisation and breakneck-speed performances into a theatrical spectacle unlike any other. The play stars YU students Kiki Arochas 鈥25YC, Ronnie Hidary 鈥27YC and Shneur Levy 鈥25YC.
The show is directed by Prof. Reuven Russell, professor of speech and drama at Stern College for Women and artistic director of YCDS. Yosef Siegel 鈥26YC serves as assistant director. 鈥淭he upcoming play will be a fun and unique experience where you get to watch three people try their best to perform every one of Shakespeare's works in an hour and a half which goes accordingly off the rails,鈥 said Siegel, adding, 鈥渒nowledge of Shakespeare isn't required to enjoy the play, but any knowledge will help more of the layered jokes land.鈥 To add to the fun, Shakespearean scholars and aspiring actors in the audience will have the opportunity to join in on the antics.
"With the technical upgrades we've made to Schottenstein Theater this year, we aim to deliver a more immersive show than ever before," added Meir Hass 鈥27YC, the show鈥檚 technical director.
